Beni Araki studied at the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, the Sweelinck Conservatory Amsterdam, and the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp with Jos van Immerseel. Her artistic development was further shaped through numerous masterclasses with Gustav Leonhardt and the organist Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini. She graduated with highest honours.

Based in Berlin, Beni Araki enjoys an international career as a soloist, chamber musician, and continuo player, specializing in historical keyboard instruments. She has performed with renowned ensembles and orchestras including the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Anima Eterna Brugge, Lautten Compagney, Kammerakademie Potsdam, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, and the Berliner Philharmoniker.

As a chamber musician, she has collaborated with distinguished artists such as Albrecht Mayer, Sergio Azzolini, Andreas Buschatz, and Sayako Kusaka. Her artistic work focuses on historical keyboard instruments, chamber music, and the rediscovery of rarely performed repertoire spanning the Baroque to the early Romantic period. Her performances are distinguished by vivid musicality, imaginative tonal colours, and an expressive approach that combines historically informed performance with artistic individuality.

She has appeared at numerous international festivals throughout Europe and Japan, including the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Rheingau Music Festival, Baden-Baden Easter Festival, Musikwoche Hitzacker, Bebersee Festival, Hohenstaufen Music Festival, and the Ashiya International Music Festival.

Her extensive discography reflects her wide-ranging activities as both a harpsichordist and fortepianist. Recordings have been released on prestigious labels including Deutsche Grammophon, Sony Classical, Harmonia Mundi France, Hänssler Profil, and Carpe Diem. Her recent releases include the double album *Bachissimo* and *Louis Ferdinand of Prussia – Piano Trio & Piano Quartet*. Earlier recordings feature world premiere recordings of piano works by E. T. A. Hoffmann and Joseph Elsner. Her recording *Fortepiano Trios: Frédéric Chopin & Joseph Elsner* (Hänssler Classic) was nominated for the 2018 German Record Critics’ Award (*Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik*).

Highlights of her 2026–2027 season include appearances at the Rheingau Music Festival, the Lüneburg Bach Festival, and the Greifswald Bach Festival. In addition to these engagements, she performs regularly as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe and Japan.

Alongside her concert career, she teaches historically informed performance practice at the Berlin University of the Arts (Universität der Künste Berlin).
